THE CHALLENGE

Breaking Bad was launching the highly anticipated Netflix Exclusive film putting a marking the triumphant conclusion to the massive franchise. With only a few days leading up to the marketing film date, Netflix asked us to pitch some last minute concepts for Aaron Paul’s marketing shoot.

THE IDEA

The Village creative team brought multiple concepts with a social first lens, one of them being an historical exploration of Aaron Paul breaking down the many times his character said B***h in the show Break Bad. A we flipped the YouTube trope of actors breaking down their performances videos and created a parody video where Aaron would talk about how he approached his character’s iconic catch phrase throughout the seasons of Breaking Bad. Aaron immediately understood the joke and enthusiastically participated in the stunt.

THE RESULTS

Part obscene, part hilarious, 100% socially relevant, the video became the most successful marketing asset in the campaign accumulating over 8 million earned views with the film reaching #1 in the Netflix top 10 during its premiere
